Bisque-fired ceramic vessels, contact microphone, amplifier, speaker

Hand-built clay forms in bisque state have a porous texture that is resonant. A contact microphone is attached within the object on the wall, and viewers are encouraged to lightly touch the form to produce a noise that is transmitted through the speaker. The delicate and fragile material of clay that is both familiar and foreign creates an uncanny experience with corporeal shapes that might resemble the distant cousins of recognizable forms.
